ITV Tyne Tees update on #melaniesmissiontolive? from tonight’s news.
I’m now home, and SO much better than I was!
However, we are still desperately trying to raise the remaining funds that we owe and to fund the VITAL medication I need for my spinal fusion to fuse strong, as I have had worsening osteoporosis in my spine since the age of 8.
The medication I need isn’t available to young females on the NHS due to NICE guidelines – so I need to pay privately for it ….and it’s expensive!
I had a private video consultation with an osteoporosis specialist last week – who agrees I need them & ideally need a 2 year course.
It’s over £300/month for the injections, plus more for any appointments and prescription costs.
I also need a bone stimulator machine to encourage strong bone growth which costs around £2-3K and had beeen proven to encourage bone growth after fusion surgery.
Any support with donations and fundraising to help me ensure we can get my whole spine fused as strong and as stable as possible- especially around the broken screws (from my broken fusion during knee surgery), would be so appreciated!
The last few months have been truly horrific for me and I can’t handle the thought of ever going through this again- plus, I don’t think it’s even possible to do it again! This was my last, last chance and I was so very lucky my surgical team were willing to take the risk and make it work the best they could.
So I’m trying my hardest to ensure all the pain, hard work, time and you’re kind & generous donations, aren’t wasted and do truly result in a successful strong and stable spinal fusion so I can continue to live my life, work on our “no more shaky shaky list” and get my teaching qualifications!
