HOME AT LAST!
We arrived home the early hours of Tuesday morning after a stressful trip home which began with RyanAir refusing to allow me my pre approved free medical case and charging me for it- something I need to appeal now I’m home and have caught up on some sleep.
I was then running late and ended up needing nebulisers and injections on the flight….. from pain and stress – but we made it.
Since then I’ve basically been in bed resting, I’m not sleeping more than an hour or two at a time so the exhaustion is kicking in!
I’ve rearranged some hospital appointments to telephone ones today to spend a day in bed and hope by the weekend to be feeling a little better!
I had some bad news yesterday however, due to the complications and the extra long admission needed in hospital this time- the hospital bill went way over budget.
So I have had to increase the GoFundMe target AGAIN!
I’ve made a poster to explain the costings more easily but basically my fundraiser initially was for the 2025 surgery at T4 – and then we increased the target rather than starting a whole new appeal campaign!
The target was increased by £60K (to £85K) cover the rib costovertebral fusion.
However now we have had to increase it by a further £9K to cover the additional expenses.
On top of the hospital expenses listed in the quote on the poster, we also have to fund the flights for myself and my mum and care team. My mum is awaiting a pacemaker due to her heart issues and so can not mange to care for me alone.
We have to fund the accommodation in the care apartment for the entire stay in Spain and all extra medications needed etc.
I hope this explains the new increase and that you will continue to support me to pay off the debt I now owe both the hospital and some very kind individuals who loaned me some money to pay back ASAP, to enable me to have the surgery.
Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much!!
