Melanie Hartshorn from Cramlington Northumberland is a 30yr old biology graduate whom hit the headlines in the media after graduating in biology on a stretcher.
Melanie’s Mission To Live is a charitable trust fund created to fund the lifesaving neurosurgery she needed, which is not available on the NHS.
Mel had successful surgery in Barcelona 3years ago and went on to recover remarkably, living life seizure free, to the full, and even volunteering in a local school… and helping others in the same position as her with their campaigns.
Unfortunately due to complications during an anaesthetic her fusion was broken and she needed to fundraise again for a revision surgery in Barcelona 6month ago.
All seemed to be going well, until recently just before Christmas when her horrific neurological symptoms returned.
Mel is currently in Barcelona bedbound and suffering daily seizures & awful symptoms.
Thankfully her neurosurgical team have fitted her in as a matter of urgency & Surgery is booked for the 20th of January, to try and get Mel back on the road to recovery and living life to the full once again.
Unfortunately we need to raise £20,000 to cover the outstanding costs of the new hardware and accommodation, by the 20th of January.
We would be very grateful of any fundraising support and thank everyone for your ongoing support with the campaign!
Thanks again,
